I have four crowlers from the closure of Peekskill Brewery. I’m saving them for special occasions, with this Simple Sour cracked open to celebrate getting behind the mic Wednesday. Other than the odd karaoke appearance, the last public strumming may have been back in 2015 (if YouTube archives can be believed). It felt good, it was nerve wracking, and I’m grateful for the support at @slaintepeekskill from the @breweryrunning crew et al. When in Tokyo I visited Hitachino Nest above Tokyo Station. I really dig this city view. Finally made it to @thecatskillbrewery! The iconic angry raccoon has made its appearance several times on my trips for #project13by62 . Of note is Ratface Macdougall, an orange-forward hazy DIPA with big body and smooth taste, and Devils Path had classic bitterness I could session easily. Huge kudos to the staff. A few days prior a wonder storm downed lines, and I overheard stories of gratitude for locals using the facilities to power phones - and trade stories of how spontaneous BBQ’s would be required to make use of meat in broken fridges. On my way back from Mexico (NY) I stopped by @oncofermentations in Tully, NY. Guided by @nyscraftbeer , I’m grateful to have found this chill spot off the highway. The Intuitive (6th Anniversary) was full bodied and had delicious bergamot bitterness, and the Aesthesis (Blueberry Cranberry Vanilla) was a deceptively drinkable fruity sour. Spot how the flights are served in muffin tins!
