Peekskill Brewery was more than just a local craft brewery. From here, I met a wonderful group of people and unlocked a social circle that I would not have otherwise found. Always the loner, establishing myself in a new city come 2018 was the hardest of uphill runs. I’m grateful for this place and its contributions, people like @breweryrunning, mug club meetups, and opportunities it all brought. I’m not the loner-loser my head makes me think I am, and this place was more than just beer. I’ll forever remember the deceptively drinkable Brighton Beat TIPA of ‘22 (10% ABV), the classic Valley Life IPA, iconic Simple Sour, and clovey Ichabod’s Fall. This place was home. I’ll refuse to be sad for its closing as long as I am able to persist with forwarding the positivity it has done for me. The day before a harvest holiday, I sit here thankful. Folks? #supportlocal . The menu was as educational as it was informative at @whiskeycoopny! Never mind that the chicken sandwich was the right kind of crispy and spicy, the choice of spirits were laid out in a clear to understand grouping of style and grain. After a doubleheader, I head for a double at #callicoonbrewingcompany . The house IPA and stout were delicious, the food menu outstanding. Fries were crispy, beef on weck well seasoned, and that brownie sundae! After running a half marathon in Saratoga Historical State Park, I needed snackies and electrolytes: so I went to @activeingredientbrewing in Malta, NY! I loved the chemistry science lab classroom aesthetic, and one doesn’t need to study to score high on this vibe test! The Control Group NEIPA was tasty and citrusy (leaning on pomelo) and I’m always a sucker for spicy such as those in Pumpkin Pi.
